Dr. Meital Peleg Mizrachi is a Postdoctoral Fellow at Yale University’s Department of Economics and the Research Lead for Moving the Needle, Yale’s sustainable fashion research hub. Her work focuses on the intersection of fashion, environment, and public policy, exploring how consumer behavior, regulation, and circular economy models shape global fashion systems.
With over a decade of experience in sustainable fashion research, Meital’s scholarship bridges academic research, policymaking, and practice. Her projects examine the economic and environmental impact of secondhand clothing markets, the effectiveness of fashion regulations in promoting social and environmental justice, and the behavioral dynamics of sustainable consumption.
Meital also serves on the Executive Board of the Sustainable Fashion Consumption Research Network, and her work has been featured in Fashion Theory, Sustainability, and the World Sustainability Series (Springer Nature). She is passionate about fostering cross-sector dialogue between academia, policymakers, and industry to build more equitable and sustainable fashion futures.
