Opportunity in crisis: Reframing sustainability as resilience, risk mitigation and commercial advantage

Back to agenda

Climate volatility, resource constraints and geopolitical instability are reshaping operational risk and how leading companies are responding. According to a report by the Economist Impact, over 99% of supply-chain leaders identify climate change as a direct threat to continuity. Thus, sustainability no longer represents the ‘’good-to-do’s’’ and the ‘’nice-to-have’s’’. It represents the risks that are central to business continuity, resilience and growth.

In this opening session, we will explore how forward-looking organisations are using sustainability not as a compliance tick-box. But as a mechanism to reduce volatility, protect supply and unlock value. We will look at:

  • Practical examples of supply chain investments that have reduced volatility to safeguard supply
  • Moving from compliance-led sustainability to value creation through resilience
  • Balancing short term financial wins vs long term strategic advantages
  • How to quantify and demonstrate the ROI of ‘resilience’ within the value chain
