Marc Schmitz

Marc has nearly 30 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, with 26 years in project finance at Rabobank. After various roles in the department he is now  heading the Project Finance team in Europe and Asia. He has originated and structured numerous renewable energy transactions and played a key role in pioneering new technologies and financing structures. Marc’s commercial skills and leadership have driven team growth and enabled them to navigate a competitive ( 2024 nr 5 Bloomberg league table renewable energy worldwide). The team is financing over 50 deals per year resulting in around EUR 3 bio financing/year. He is also part of the board of Dutch wind association (Nedzero) and the advisory board of the Dutch Energy Storage Association (ESNL). He is strong in building client relationships and additionally, Marc demonstrated his entrepreneurial spirit by co- founding, being a shareholder and part of the supervisory board of a ground service equipment company in the aviation industry, which was recently sold to a large investment fund.
